Monday 23.08.2010 Day 235

New coffee maker

My younger son was in the zoo with the local vacation programm.

Sorry for the bad and rainy weather. From time to time with heavy downpours.

In the morning my elder son had an appointment with the dentist and in the afternoon he visited his grandparents - he haven´t seen them since some weeks.

Whilst he visited them, my husband and I drove to Ik*ea, for some shelves for our garage.

No picture for today!

Get miffed about the construction area at 5 am and about children who don´t keep the proprieties at 7 am .... Welcome holiday Sunday .... I´m so mad about it ....

After breakfast we made a little bike ride before we picked up my younger son. The nine days christian camp is over now. He had much fun, but he´s really tired and his voice is nearly gone.

So first we snuggled a little bit on the couch before we went out, for having dinner in our favorite Chinese restaurant.

Today we had another day with beautiful weather til the evening... there was a really heavy thunderstorm at 8 pm.

Wow sunny day today... unexpected after many days of rain.

We had breakfast outside in a little café.

Then we bought a new coffee maker! A big dream of my husband came true. He got a genuine coffee maker .... mmmh this coffee taste really really delicious.

Later we had lunch in a restaurant. My elder son had ostrich steak.

In the late afternoon I cut him his hair, outside in the garden. Only for the picture my husband took the razor over.

Broken coffee maker

Panic in the night at 3 am - It sounded as we had a geyser in our kitchen. I feared a water hose of the dishwasher might be broken. Thanks God it wasn´t .... What was it? That was not better either Thanks God I become awake ... because our coffee maker was the geyser of the night..... white smoke and the coffee maker ...sprayed the powder of the pads through the whole kitchen....

Immediately I pulled the plug and went back to my bed with heart throb.
At almost 6 am I was still but I had to clean out the kitchen, before I went for a workday until 8 pm....

After cleaning the kitchen, I decided to went to the bakery - first - for a good glass of latté macchiato. That was really required. Then I was ready for working until 8 pm

In the afternoon my husband picked up our elder son for a two weeks holiday at home.

The sunset after work compensated for the shock in the night.

New haircut from my elder son

Our elder son surprised us today with a new haircut. In the afternoon he was at a public viewing with is father... sad Germany lost 0:1 against Serbia

Today we visited a big flea market in town. Both boys had much fun and made good deals. My elder son bought different shorts and t-shirts, my younger son a detective kit and I bought books for the boys and two t-shirts for me.

In the evening Germany played soccer against Australia at the FIFA World Cup. We won 4:0

Guitar (and keyboard) concert in a church

Today my younger son had a swimming competition....outside....sad, the weather was mild but grey, windy and a little bit rainy.

Afterwards we hurried to the church in his grandmother´s village. There was a guitar concert for celebrating the 250 th birthday of the church. It was a family concert especially for children - with funny christian songs - played with guitar and keyboard.

In the morning my elder son had a soccer match. Unfortunately they lost 3:4.

Afterwards we picked up a friend of mine. She donated my boys a scenic flight for their birthday.. already last year - but the weather wasn´t good enough.

But today the weather was perfect (sunny and 29,5°C degrees) and all three had much fun. It was the first flight for my boys and they enjoyed it very much. Meanwhile my husband and I enjoyed a leafy bower in the beer garden of the aero club.

We had fantastic weather, sunny and a clear blue sky. We made a bike ride into town. There we rested in a beer garden.

Today was our last day. At 7 pm we started our way home.... (instead of Saturday)... hoping not to have a congestion... but this was a fault.... for the first 50 km we needed 150 minutes (2 and a half hours) because of different construction zones

A two and a half hour hiking tour through the forest and ravines. Pictures are made with my son´s small digi-cam. We had 12° C degrees and it was sunny. In the afternoon cloudy and 18° C degrees.

Saturday 22.08.2009 Day 234



I had a short night and so I´m really tired. Someone in the house (not in our family) woke me up at 4.45 am. That bites!!! grrrr

After a nice breakfast together we brought the children to the meeting point for their vacation camp. The bus departed a few minutes past 10.00 am.

We had a lazy day, no working, no cooking, café latte in a sidewalk cafe, a fresh green salad in a restaurant. In the afternoon I was making a backup and my husband was watching the World Championships in Athletics on TV.

The weather wasn´t really nice. Fresh with about 19°C degrees and most of the day cloudy.

Whilst the children are at their camp I plan to visit Stuttgart for one or two days.

The whole day we were packing the bags for the vacation camp, sorted out clothed that were undersized and tidied up the children´s rooms.

For lunch we enjoyed home made cheese burgers.

It was a sticky day, with only 25° C degrees and it rained time and time again. We also had a short but heavy thunderstorm.

Today was also the birthday of my dear friend Sandra Happy birthday and many many hugs. I wish you all the best, health and joy. Hope you had a fantastic day. God bless you.
